We need some! Banghead
uuuuggggggh

We are completely out of sync on offense.

I agree with Bilas' comment on Saturday, that I can see this team improving as the season goes along.

But damn! This team just does not score baskets well.
The line ain't too bad on offense. Both Henderson and Singler got 19 (Singler had a double double). Scheyer, although he didn't really seem like he had a great game, had 14 points. And Paulus had 8.

Not bad.
Referencing the box score for exact numbers:

Duke shot 23 for 59 from the field, (39%), for the game. But that percentage was actually elevated toward the end when they finally started hitting shots.

And while I'll agree, Singler & Henderson had good games; Duke can't rely on just those two. Singler played 37 out of 40 minutes and Henderson played 36.
Scheyer played very well on defense, as did most of the team, but offensively he was not very good last night. He did hit two really good 3's near the end of the game, but even with that he was 3-13 from the field.

Duke didn't move the ball around very well on offense, and made some very poor shot selections for most of the game. If GT hadn't made so many unforced turnovers, it would have been a very different game.

Let me also throw in that Duke shot only 59.3% from the FT line.

Now, I'll say again, I can see this team really making improvements during the season this year. But Singler & Henderson can't continue to play +36 minutes every single game. (Scheyer played 34 last night as well)
1st half against NCSU....... scored 22 points, 29% from the floor, down by 4 pts

at home

Why can't we seem to get an offensive rhythm going? Something very important is missing from this year's team.

OnPermanentVacation

The first 5 - 8 minutes of the game tonight were painful to watch. Both teams looked like they had never heard of basketball, let alone played it.
^ Agreed

Henderson found his game in the 2nd half, and lead Duke to the win. State had been more than answering any Duke spurt with a well executed offensive play, but seemed to give up with about 8 minutes left in the game.

I think State really over defended Scheyer in the first half and threw him off his game on the offensive end.

Inconsistent play at the point, and no really answer for McCauley in the lane really put Duke behind the 8-ball in the first half.
How many shots did Zoubek have blocked?

I hope Singler doesn't have to go back to playing center.
