Post who you think will win the Player of the Year award at the end of the season.
Despite some fantastic play by others early this season, I think it'll still go to Hansbrough.
While I'm not a fan, I do give him credit as hard working and deserving of this and many other awards.
But who else should be in the running, in your opinion?
Jeff Teague and Tyrese Rice have both been outplaying Hansbrough. I don't see that changing as the season continues. Anointing a player as POY before the season even begins does no favors for that player & really puts them under a ton of pressure. If Hansbrough continues playing like he has been, he will not be deserving of said award and the voters would deserve much derision and to have their voting credentials revoked. Or if it would be easier, just have Pacman Jones hire some friends to visit the voters...
I keed, I keed...at least on the last part...

Not sure who I would pick. Wouldn't be Hansbrough, though. I'd pick Henderson over him. Not saying Henderson should be POY, but he has impressed me more than Hansbrough.
Hansbrough will win it. The media is slanted light blue, afterall.
Me. For watching the Pack and giving a damn.
On a serious note, either Henderson or Lawson. Probably Lawson.
Im leaning towards Lawson but if Henderthug goes off against us he may have a say.
Chris Douglas means more to his team than any other player in the ACC. That dude is sick.
I would have to pick Tony Douglas just because of what he means to his team. Without him, they would be near the bottom of the league. With him, they are challenging for the 2 seed.
First half of the season, it looked like Teague, but now I think it's between Lawson, Henderson and Hansbrough.
My money's on Hansbrough.
Since the instant he step on the floor at D. E. Smith Center, the pressure has been on Tyler Hansbrough to make it his team. In 05/06, the Heels had just won the NCAAs and sent an entire squad of starters to the NBA. Everyone in the ACC was predicting a big dropoff for the Heels. Instead, Tyler put the team on his back and carried them through to a successful season. Each subsequent season, he has performed at a higher level and the Heels have responded with increasingly better records and performances. Heel yeah, he's had a lot of quality help on the wings, but it's been his team in the paint. He may not possess the raw talent that puts him in a class with the Durants, Beasleys, and other one-and-done phenoms. Conversely, he has worked harder than any of us know to improve his basketball skills, ability , and IQ. His demeanor on the floor is focused, always. His effort level has one speed, intense. He doesn't whine when he's getting beaten about the head, neck, and arms by the constant double- and triple-teams that he sees night in and night out against jacked-up opponents who make a game against Carolina their seasonal championship and play accordingly. Carolina and the ACC will probably never see a four year star with the consistent statistical development that he has displayed. Even if my lenses weren't tinted Carolina blue, his choice as POY is a no-brainer.
I think Lawson is in the running...
I'm forced to change my original post and say I think Toney Douglas should be ACC POY.
Maybe it's because I'm in a Florida media market, but this Tar Heel fan would vote for Toney Douglas. Hansbrough and Lawson are good contenders, but their coexistence negates the argument, imo. Douglas means more to his overachieving team on both offense and defense.
Reports say it's Lawson.
Congrats to the UNC point guard.

sunnyheel's reasons are the same as mine.
I'm not knocking Tyler, (don't get me wrong, I'm still not a fan), but I still respect his work ethic and what he's accomplished.
Why i called him chris?
