I don't think Coach C is in UT's plans. They will aspire to attract one of the biggest names in coaching. And while I believe coach C is very good, he isn't big time.
I think he would only come into play if the big names turned them down.
I can think of some odd and funny choices for UT: What about Steve Spurrier? He would have a great platform from which to terrorize his alma mater. And what about Saban? Would $5 million a year turn him into a vol?

That's the reason I think they'll come calling. I can almost guarantee you that Manning will be telling the AD to call on Cutcliffe. I hear they have a $4 million payout with Fulmer so that will probably hurt their chances with some of the big time coaches.

ESPN says $6 million is the buyout. I guess that is several games of ticket revenue from their 100,000 seat stadium.
We have about 2 months to go before the end of the football season (theirs is already over). Do their coach shopping days start now or do they have to wait until December?

Jim Grobe was mentioned earlier today as a coach they may take a look at.

I heard they were going to look at pictures of Megan Fox, at least through December, and then start looking for a football coach.
But that's just a rumor, mind you.

According to the smartest, (self-proclaimed) greatest fans in America, the wuffneckers o' Raleigh, Butch Davis is signed, sealed and delivered to UT.
No worrying your pretty little heads. Cut will be around to keep doing well for you all ...
Now go beat the crap outta State guys Saturday, please.

great news! looks like everyone is going to turn down Tennessee before they get started.
Also, a Tampa Bay paper said today that Gruden was not a serious candidate.

Gruden is making serious coin in the NFL. Plus he can curse at players much easier. I don't see him ever leaving an NFL job (head or asst.) as long as he can make good money and be "Chuckie".
