Ever since he moved from the AL to NL and that HUGE 126mil contract he has been a complete bust. I thought the NL was more pitcher friendly?

The thing that happened to Zito happens to a lot of players, particularly pitchers, he cashed in at exactly the right time. Steinbrenner has had it happen probably more than most because he was the first to really go out and pay gobs and gobs of money for pitchers. Pitchers are always skating on thin ice, effectiveness-wise. Don Gullet brings a smile to my face. Georgie with his if you can't beat'em, buy'em policy paid big bucks just as Don's arm went south.
My guess is he got himself a craxy girlfriend. Just a guess.

Actually, before the banishment (and subsequent loss yesterday...stellar 0-7 record there Zeets), his fastball was averaging 83.7 MPH, which is down from about 86 during his Cy Young year.
Dude turns 30 next week and he's already got a fork in him.
And yes, apparently dating Alyssa Milano is the kiss of death. Look at Carl Pavano (and a few others I can't recall offhand, possibly Brad Penny). She's the kiss of death for these guys.
