Agreed - looks like a solid experienced staff.
It does look like a solid staff. Anyone know where Vaas has landed/will land? I thought he had the offense really moving the right direction this past year.
PPG, love you, but I have to completely disagree. We were in the high 110's in scoring and total offense last year. Pitiful.
I won't spend much time talking about this but suffice to say this coaching staff is world's beyond anything we have seen at Duke since long before Spurrier came here. Amazing what happens when you spend some real money.
I still think you guys should go with Isaiah Thomas.
Well he did smack around the heavily favored Squeels in the National Championship game so I see your point
Kinda like we smacked y'all around the last 3 times we played...............
No more like the way we've smacked you around 18 of the last 23
Or how we swept y'all 3 years in a row(94-96) or how we all over you in all-time matchups!
Hmmmm.... Thread title - "The football staff is set"
And it still attracts the troll.
I am not expecting a miracle season but I do think Duke will be much improved this coming year. I think Cutcliffe was a great hire and I like that he was able to bring along some experienced assistants who have worked with him.
If they can keep the staff together good things will happen.
D$, I hadn't seen where we ranked this year in terms of PPG - I just noticed through my sleep deprivation that converting scores didn't seem to be the exercise in futility it had been for so long. If we were in the high 110s, then no, we weren't as improved as I'd thought.
My gut reaction to this staff is that we should *expect* wins, not hope for them - which is a HUGE step forward. There's a helluva long way to go, but at least I don't feel like we're riding a bicycle on the highway at the moment.
