Dickey Ruled Ineligible for Basketball

Tech senior center to be sidelined for fall semester

This helps UNC who plays GA Tech in third ACC game but may not help Duke who does not play GA Tech until late February.

Getting GA Tech earlier is beneficial also since they do not have a proven PG but may develop one as season progresses.

Upon further reflection, that UNC @ GA Tech is probably around Jan 19 which may be second semester with RaSean Dickey possibly again academically elgible.

So impact is GA Tech @ Indiana in ACC/B10 challenge but GA Tech rarely wins on road anyway, and also any other OOC GA Tech loses that it might have won with Dickey.

May actually help them get Lawal oriented quicker
It's just a bad break for Tech. Hope the kid gets it together

Seems to me something personal or family related must be going on if he did not make that progress over two summer semesters.

If he can't qualify over two summer semesters, what's the chance he does in Fall semester.

Sad thing is he may requalify and then not attend classes at all in Spring semester.

It's not like he is a lock for NBA though he could probably earn some decent pay in Euro leagues, but having come this far at a fine academic institution like GA Tech,

let's hope he brings it over the finish line for his future security, an insurance policy should he not make a lot of money in pro basketball, or even if he does.

all indications point to Dickey not failing any classes, just dropping too many. He doesn't have the hours required by the NCAA to compete. I have seen no reports showing that he has failed out of school. He will get the required credits by January and be rested for the ACC season.
