Pairing the 5 "Bigs" (4 by default)

Singler can be paired with anybody

Zoubek can only be paired with Singler if Paulus and Scheyer are both on the floor, not King or Defense is porous, not Lance/McClure or Zoubs is doubled too easily

McClure can only be paired with Singler, not King or too small even for small ball, not Lance or no Offense, not Zoubek or he gets doubled too easily

King can be paired with Singler or Lance, not Zoubek if Paulus and Scheyer are both on floor or defense is Porous, not McClure or too small even for small ball

Lance can be paired with Singler or King, not Zoubek or he gets doubled too easily, nor McClure or no Offense.

So from an opportunity standpoint, Singler should play about 80% of 40 minutes, or 32 minutes.

Lance and King should play about 40%, or 16 each, subtotal eth Kyle 64 of 80 minutes

Zoubek and McClure should play about 20% or 8 each for total of 80 minutes by 5 "bigs".

Dave could log some additional time as a perimeter defender/3.
Man, you guys seem a little light. I know you've won titles without a lot of muscle, but not this much.

Yep, and Duke can go even smaller and have an intriguing lineup:

PG - Greg Paulus
3W - Nolan Smith-Demarcus Nelson-Gerald Henderson
Post Defender - Kyle Singler

presumably with Scheyer 6th man, ZoubLance first big off bench, McClure for defensive wing sub, Marty for offensive wing sub and Taylor for wing/big Offensive threat.

This would bring back to another of its basic tenets, pressure all around.

Scheyer-Lance-McClure-Pocius are suited for this style whereas Zoubek and King have other primary strengths than can be situational, though both Zoubek and King Taylor could possibly play the post defender in this set, with Singler situationally playing one of the wing spots.

There's no getting around that Zoubek is the only guy over 6'9" and the only guy over 220 or so pounds. So have to create mismatches in other areas, whether it is run and gun with King Taylor, stifling defense with Nolan and Nelson, or whatever.

Could be a fun team to watch but may be painful at times against bigs. NC State for example has JJ Hickson and Costner both about 6'9" 240 pounds plus McCauley an inch taller and same weight. They can pair two or three of these guys with 6'8" skinny Gavin Grant and/or 6'5" Courtney Fells. All NC St needs is a PG and they have two former PGs on staff who can readily make someone at least serviceable.

UNC has Tyler who is a beast and Deon Thomspon who played well in U-19, plus Lawson-Ellington-Green-Ginyard, so no apparent weaknesses.

GA Tech has a ton of athletes even after losing senior Mario West who is trying out for Harlem Globetrotters and star freshmen Crittenden and Thaddeus Young as early NBA entrants. Dickey-Jeremis Smith-Lawal, Faye, Peacock, Aminu the lesser, Morrow, Clinch, and D’Andre Bell, just need someone to play the point.

Miami has a ton of beef with Dwayne Collins, Jimmy Graham, Anthony King, Raymond Hicks and probably someone I am forgetting plus Jack McClinton. Like GA Tech and NC St, Miami just need a a PG now that Denis Clemente transferred to K-St whether by choice or because Frank Haith kicked him off the team is debatable.

So it should be interesting seeing matchups both ways.
UNC played Stackhouse, a SG/SF at PF one year, but they had 'sheed in the middle to make up. Think that team went to the FF.
