Congrats, weather he's tainted or not, it's still an acheivement. Saw it just a bit ago.
I'm happy for him. I've liked Barry since he came into the league. He has done some things that I haven't agreed with, but alot of people have done that. Congrats to him, it is a great accomplishment.
If a man won the Tour de France on a motorcycle would everyone be saying, it's still an achievement?

I will close out my comments about Bonds with this.

He is one of the greatest hitters of all time. Ted Williams, Pete Rose, Ty Cobb, Stan Musial, Ichiro were/are all better hitters. However, Bonds' H/E co-ordination and bat speed are things steroids cannot help. More muscle mass HURTS bat speed if anything.

He was one of the greatest outfielders of all time. Willie Mays, Griffey Jr., Mantle, and numerous others were/are all better. However, in his prime, Bonds more than held his own with both the glove and the arm.

He was a fantastic base runner, but father time has been sapping his legs for some years now.

He is officially the greatest homerun hitter in baseball. He has both the records that count. I'd like to play the "what if" game here (no injuries for Griffey, no injuries for Mantle, integration from the beginning, no plane ride for Roberto, no war for Teddy, more protection in the lineup for Mays) but that would just be sour grapes. Bonds had just as many opportunities to be injured or killed as every other player in MLB history.

The steroid issue believe it or not is not an issue with me. A lot of what he has been taken was not illegal until relatively recently. He did lie out his devil ass though about "not knowing". No, I take the high road in my revulsion of Bonds. He is a douchebag of the highest order and a "me first" player on par with Deion Sanders. He also plays for the vaGiants and that is an even worse offense. Knowing he broke the record is second only to Bobo Knight passing Coach Smith in bile inducing vurps.

So [] you Bonds. You have hit the most homeruns of anyone in baseball, but Hank Aaron is still the homerun king.
I'd also like to point out that despite playing in San Fran against the Nationals, a NEW YORK METS fan from Queens caught the ball. The New York Giants/Brooklyn Dodgers would be proud.
