Yeah, it's not real meaningful, but hey it is NFL football and I'm ready for the season to start.

^you and many others, inlcuding yours truly. I continue to insist that they cut the preseason from four to two games, though. Either don't play them or make them regular season game. I know the starters only play sporadically, but it's just too risky. It seems to happen every year; key players get injured in meaningless games.

Chad Pennington, Steve Smith, and Clinton Portis come immediately to mind from the past few years.

Mark my words:

There will be more NFL expansion within the next five years (2-4 teams). The season will go to 18 games. Pre-season: two games.

Just a hunch. No evidence (besides $$$$) to back it up.

^interesting. Where do you think expansion will occur? Obviously, the NFL has been looking to put a franchise back in LA, regardless if that's a good idea or not. But I think they'd rather move an existing team. There's some question as to how much longer the Jags can last in Jacksonville. Toronto? Mexico City? It's too bad Germany is way too far away. They actually like American football there.

I agree that because of money, they'd rather make two of the four preseason games count than take them away.
