Figured I'd finally get some pictures up. She's a great dog growing like a weed. I'm guessing about 30 lbs already.

Took her out on the boat for the second time last weekend, unfortunately I forgot the camera. Put in and let her roam a little as we're puttering out telling the girls to let her be a let her get used to it and figure it all out. Didn't think she's jump, at least not without a show of it as I've got a couple of feet of freeboard. She's up on the bow just sniffing around, puts one foot out to see what that edge is and just steps off! No big deal barely making headway, cut the engine as she swims for a dock, when she realizes she can't get up on that boat she swims straight back just as natrual as can be, I scoop her up, put on the leash, and head out for real. She never did get comfortable jumping off that day but I'm sure it will come, she has great form when jumping to clear the last step off the deck. As if that swimming effort wasn't enough, when we were out at the shoals swimming around I realized the blasted dog already swims faster than me.

She loves her (no longer) big brother and even though she pesters him constantly Max seems to have a little more spring in his step now that she's around. Hopefully he won't kill himself trying to keep up with her once she's three times his size.

Thanks to PotHole I've got a lab again.
Dang! That's a good lookin' dawg! Where did you say you got her???

Shadow's sister is just about as inquisitive. She wasn't all that crazy about the water as a very young pup (and I was having reservations about my decision to keep her), but add a couple of months and now she hits the water with reckless abandon and swims freely, even when my other dogs aren't out there with her. She also loves frozen birds and hits another gear when she takes off to fetch one. I've started on some basic obedience, but I haven't put to much pressure on her just yet as I'm letting her learn the other aspects of being a retriever (gunfire, decoys, birds, boats, etc.,) before we get too heavy into training.

I know I've been remiss in putting any pics of her on here, but I'll try to do better in the coming weeks. Skip, don't forget one of Shadow's brothers is over at Wrightsville Beach, and when I get a pic of him I'll try to send it on to you. His owner emailed me the other day and said he was doing great.

Glad to see you're back into the Lab business again. Thumb2
