Sammy joins the 600 club.
Does he join the Hall of Fame club?
It will be interesting to see how this generation is handled.
Has Sammy ever been linked to anything besides a corked bat? And doubling in head size since his first year in the league?
Congrats to Sammy.
Unfortunately if you ever talk to any former major leagers, especially those that just played a few years, they'll tell you the pressure to perform is tremendous. Anything that will help you recover quicker is a huge temptation.
It was understandable that a guy could see a way to not only hold on longer but actually improve performance and find it hard to resist. That said, everyone hates the idea of these chemically enhanced ballplayers surpassing players that set records largely through hard work and perserverance. Sammy, Mark and Barry should not be mentioned in the same breath as Ruth, Maris, Aaron etc.
I don't see how to keep them out of the HoF though.

It's going to be very hard to keep a guy out of the Hall who has an MVP award and 600 homers, especially without a real "smoking gun" in regards to the PEDs issue.
