Yes, in another time and in a different forum, this would have led to a great thread. In the current circumstances, not so much.
Mind boggling that the Netherlands beat the DR twice. I heard Buck Martinez this morning and he felt the top SEC and ACC college teams would be thought to compare well, as a matter of talent, to the Dutch team. I wonder if the Vols are wondering why they ran off that coach?
I should really be into the WBC, but I have had a hard time appreciating it, to be honest. Having said that, I watched the end of the second DR-Ned game...in a way, it's bizarre to watch a major league pitcher facing a completely overmatched A-ball batter with the game on the line, followed by another minor leaguer (two career MLB at bats).

Spike, how about a team that depends for leadership on two guys best known for assalting food (whether on the buffet or in racing mascot form)?
One of them is a knight, though, so he should have plenty of leadership qualities...
